Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation offers an all-inclusive tour package to JAPAN for the duration of 08 Nights -09 days covering Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto, Osaka & Hiroshima. This package provides an opportunity to the tourists to visit :
Tokyo has enjoyed a long history of prosperity as Japan’s capital since 1603, when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his shogunate and named the city Edo. Today, with a population of about 14 million, it has grown into the largest of the 47 prefectures of Japan and indeed one of the greatest metropolises in the world. Comprising 23 special wards, 26 cities, five towns, and eight villages, Tokyo is the center of various activities in Japan, including politics, economy, and culture.
Located geographically at roughly the center of the Japanese archipelago and in the southern part of the Kanto region, Tokyo shares borders with Chiba Prefecture to the east, separated by the Edogawa River; Yamanashi to the west, by a mountain range; Kanagawa to the south, by the Tamagawa River; and Saitama to the north. With a total area of 2,194 square kilometers, it is the third smallest administrative division in the country. And yet as compact as it is, the land unfolding from east to west is rich in topographical features, from lowlands of only 4 meters above sea level to scatterings of mountains, hills, and plateaus reaching 2,000 meters high, and extending even to the volcanic Izu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Mount Fuji, or Fujisan as the Japanese call it, is located on Japan’s largest island of Honshu. It has an elevation of 3,776m / 12,389ft and is Japan’s tallest peak. It is a dormant volcano with the last eruption taking place in 1707.
Mt. Fuji is arguably the most perfect volcanic cone in existence and is often portrayed in art, literature, and religion. Unlike other famous high-elevation mountains in the world, Mt. Fuji is not part of a large mountain range. It stands alone, in all its magnificence.
Hakone, in the shadow of Mount Fuji, is one of the greater Tokyo area’s most popular countryside escape destinations, thanks to its beautiful scenery, luxurious ryokans, and wealth of rejuvenating onsen (hot springs).
But it’s not all nature: along with relaxing surrounded by mountains, there is also plenty to see and do in Hakone, including wonderful art, pleasant hikes, and unique sightseeing options.
Part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Hakone also offers striking views of the nearby Mount Fuji (Fujisan) on clear days. And onsen lovers will find Hakone particularly appealing, as it’s one of the best places in Japan’s Kanto region to bathe in traditional hot springs.
Because Hakone is easily accessed from Tokyo, many travelers visit as a day trip, though it’s arguably best experienced as an overnight destination, including a stay of at least a night or two at a ryokan (Japanese-style inn).
Hamamatsu, city, southwestern Shizuoka ken (prefecture), central Honshu, Japan. It lies on the Pacific Ocean coast at the mouth of the Tenryū River, roughly midway between Tokyo and Kyōto.
Hamamatsu was a post station on the Tōkaidō (“Eastern Sea Road”) - the main historic land route between Edo (Tokyo) and Kyōto—during the Edo (Tokugawa) period (1603–1868). Now a leading industrial centre with strong economic ties to Nagoya, it is noted for the manufacture of pianos and other musical instruments, motorcycles, and consumer goods and for cotton dyeing and weaving. Hamamatsu is the marketing centre for western Shizuoka, serving the areas of Lake Hamana and the lower Tenryū River. Long a transportation hub, it is served by the Tōkaidō Shinkansen (bullet train) line and the Shinano and Tōkaidō highways. In 2005 the city of Hamakita and several other surrounding municipalities were merged administratively into Hamamatsu city. Pop. (2010) 800,866; (2015) 797,980.
Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto is the cultural and historical heart of Japan. Kyoto is probably the best place in Japan to enjoy the beauty of the country, its culture, its people, its numerous traditional Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines with their beautiful gardens and treasures. It’s the best place to encounter the mysterious geisha and maiko, attend various festivals, discover excellent restaurants and amazing shops. In short, Kyoto is the most interesting and rewarding destination in all of Japan.
Hiroshima, Hiroshima's vibrant capital has a complicated history, great food, and friendly locals. While it is probably most famous for being devastated by a nuclear attack at the close of World War II, the city is not morose or bitter about its past, and instead promotes peace and understanding. Hiroshima City treats its tragic past with honor and respect, but it does not dwell on it. The city is full of plenty of lighthearted fun as well.
Hiroshima is known for its robust food culture. One local specialty is okonomiyaki. The savory pancake is popular throughout Japan with different regional twists. Hiroshima's version is cooked on a base of noodles layered with pork and cabbage, so it goes down well with a cold beer or two. Oysters are also a local delicacy, served both raw and cooked in a variety of ways, including battered and deep fried. The cultivation of oysters in Hiroshima is said to go back to the 16th century.
Osaka, the exuberant energy of Osaka, Japan, is a striking contrast to the traditional culture of Kyoto, and the two Kansai neighbors could not be more different from one another - despite being just a half-hour apart!
The lively metropolis of Osaka, Kansai’s largest city, is sometimes overlooked by first-time visitors to Japan (usually in favor of Kyoto, which always appears on lists of Japan’s best destinations). Yet it is a perennial favorite of Japan connoisseurs and repeat visitors, especially among travelers who love Japanese food.
Osaka is best known for its amazing casual food and outgoing locals. It’s arguably Japan’s street food capital, and most famous for snacks including takoyaki and okonomiyaki. Osaka is also renowned for its fun, extroverted people who make eating and drinking in the city an unforgettable experience.
